ARVELLA MARCUM, 83, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.  She was born November 29, 1933 at Meador, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lon and Pansy Steele.  Her sister Arbutus Roark, also preceded her in death along with four infant brothers and sisters.  Arvella was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Israel Church.         

            She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Columbus Carl Marcum; five children, Sheila Kay Marcum of Huntington, W.Va., Vera Gwendolyn (Kevin) Merritt of Genoa, Lorna Lynn (Mark) Bradshaw of Wayne, Carl David Marcum (Martha Moorehart) of Washington Courthouse, Oh., and Ida Belle Marcum of Barboursville, W.Va.; seven grandchildren Shannan (Timothy) Gillam of Wayne, Joshua Brunty all of Wayne, Jonathan (Courtnay) Collier of Huntington, Emily Bradshaw of Westmoreland, Ethan Bradshaw of Wayne, Rachel Kitts of South Point, Oh., and Kasey Fizer of Barboursville; and 10 great grandchildren. 

            Also surviving are two brothers Troy Steele of Meador, W.Va., and Harold Steele of Newport, Tenn.; three sisters, Peggy Steele of Dayton, Oh., Patty Brown and Patricia Jude, both of Camden, Oh.; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

            Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Brewer Cemetery, Marrowbone.  Friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
