BRUCE EDWARD TURLEY, SR., 85, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. He was born February 11, 1933 at Charleston, W.Va., a son of the late Osburn William Turley and Goldie Williams. His wife Betty Lou Turley also preceded him in death. Bruce was a veteran of the US Navy and National Guard, serving in the Korean War, and later retired as a route salesman from Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company with 28 years of service. He was a charter member of Beverly Hills Church of Christ, Huntington, and along with his wife Betty attended Booton Crockett Methodist Church in Wayne until the time their deaths.
He leaves behind his children, Veronica (Dale W.) Ward of Lavalette, W.Va., Bruce (Sharon K.) Turley Jr. of Wayne, and Regina Turley; grandchildren, Damon (Kristel) Ward of Clover S.C., Amber M. Ward and her fiance Sean C. Roberts of Charlotte, N.C., Rebecca (Pat) Toppins, Justin (Stephanie) Turley, Christopher S. Tomblin, all of Wayne, James K. Tomblin and Kendra Lloyd, both of Huntington; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Emily Gartin, Christopher and Dustin Isaacs, Cameron and Drayden Tomblin, Amelie and Bryn Ward; two special friends Mike Pullin and D.J. Turley, and a host of family and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Carico officiating. Burial will follow at Bowen Cemetery with military honors performed by the American Legion Post 93. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
