CHARLES MICHAEL SKEENS, 35, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016.  He was born June 30, 1980 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of Charles and Estelle Skeens of Wayne.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roscoe and Ruby Skeens, and Otis and Louise Perry; and four uncles, Ronald Skeens,Raymond Skeens, Kenneth Skeens, and Randy Skeens.  Michael earned a bachelor’sdegree from Marshall University and a master’s degree from Salem University, as well asbeing a John Philip Sousa Award recipient.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Tonya Michelle Skeens of Huntington, and Jessica Renee Skeens of Wayne; three nephews, Tanner David Napier of Huntington, Evan Hunter Morgan of Wayne, and Kaden Gauge Adkins of Wayne; four aunts, Jean Boudon, Maple Giles, Velma Adkins, and Ladonna Skeans; eight uncles, Faron Skeens, Doug Skeens, Ray Perry, Gale Perry, Dale Perry, Melvin Perry, Jerry Perry, and Paris Perry; five special friends, Reggie Ray, Zack Hodge, Joey Alexander, Brian Dunfee, Jeremy Sanders; and a host of friends too numerous to mention.

​Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Garland Perry officiating.  Burial will follow in Skeens Cemetery, East Lynn, W.Va.  Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
