Loving husband, father, and grandfather, CHARLIE DINGESS, 67, of Wayne, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 21, 2017.  He was born February 27, 1950 in Huntington, W.Va. a son of the late Nellie and James “Tadd” Maynard and Shannon Dingess.  His brother Noah Dingess also preceded him in death.  Charlie worked for over 40 years as a brick mason, most recently with Local 5, and attended Laurel Freewill Baptist Church.  He loved life and he fought hard to live.

            He leaves behind his loving wife, Rebecca Dingess; seven daughters, Michele (Carie) Roland of Clyde, Oh., Lisa (Dr. Glenn) Harper of Huntington, Kelli (Bobby) Morrison of Huntington, Martha Hughes of Danville, W.Va., Michelle Hughes of Wayne,  Kayla (Zach) Duty of Kenova, W.Va., Kristin Hughes of Wayne; two sons, Jimmy Hughes of Huntington and Jason Hughes of Wayne; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Arley, both of Ohio, Hannah, Eian, Trey, Addison, Abram, and William all of West Virginia; and one great grandson, Derek of Ohio.

            Also surviving are three sisters, Orelene (Jackie) Maynard of Wayne, Barbara (Cabell) Lycans of Prichard, W.Va., Tammy (Dave) Caldwell of Ohio; one brother Okey (Sherri) Dingess of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; his dear church family; and a host of friends.

            The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jeffery Parker, and Linda Rooney for their help in the last few months.  We are forever grateful.  They would also like to thank Dr. Laura Fetty, Sabrina Hopson and Sheena Cook for their kindness and care.

            Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Casteel officiating.  Burial will follow in the Charlie and Becky Dingess Cemetery, with Trey Morrison, Eian Harper, Jefferey Parker, Kristin Hughes, Okey Dingess, Jason Hughes, Cabell Lycans, and Danny Jo Terry serving as pallbearers.  Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
