CLYDE ADKINS, 91, of Lavalette, W.Va., passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1925 at Stiltner, W.Va., a son of the late Noah and Martha Adkins. His wife of 63 years, Spicie Adkins also preceded him in death, along with eleven siblings, Ceburn Workman, Zona Workman, Ray Adkins, Clifford Adkins, Edward “Bug” Adkins, Harmon Adkins, Glen Roy Adkins, Hannah Adkins Clark, Hatten Adkins; N.P. Adkins, and Janie Watts. Clyde served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a retired fork lift operator.
He leaves behind three children, Brenda (Danny) Adkins East Lynn, W.Va., Mike Adkins, and Rick Adkins, both of Lavalette; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie, Melanie (Donny), Shane, Amber, Ricky, Corey, Ericka, Sara, and Alan; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Cooper of Lorain, Ohio; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Casteel officiating. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
