DONALD BERRY, 81, of Genoa, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 22, 2018. He was born November 23, 1936 in Wayne County, a son of the late Willie and Laura Cox Berry. His wife Patty Berry also preceded him in death along with three sisters, Opal Dingess, Betty Chaney, and Ida Staley; two brothers, John Berry and William "Bill" Berry; and infant twin daughters, Joyce and Doris Berry. Donald was a retired coal miner and a member of Big Lynn Freewill Baptist Church.
He leaves behind three sons, Bradley (Patricia) Berry of Dunlow, W.Va., Timmy Berry of Genoa, with whom he made his home, and Donald (Bonnie) Berry of Wayne, W.Va.; nine grandchildren, Bradley William (Emily) Berry of New York, Stephen Michael (Kayla) Berry of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Kenneth Berry and Anthony Berry, both of Woodstock, Va., Breanna Berry of Wayne, Natasha Louise Williams of Beckley, W.Va., Charles Edward Holstein III of Calif., Justin Ladon Thompson of Huntington, W.Va., and Angel Irene Thompson of Dunlow; and seven great grandchildren, Bailey, Brooke, Bianca, Kaylee, Stephen Bradley Thor, Ellie, and Charlie Ray.
Also surviving are two brothers, Lonnie (Arbutus) Berry of East Lynn, W.Va., and Arville Berry of Georgia; one sister, Mittie (Rudolph) Webb of Proctorville, Ohio; and nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Workman officiating. Burial will follow at the Cox Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
