DONALD RAY PIERCE, 81, of East Lynn, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House. He was born September 15, 1937, in Ashland Kentucky, a son of the late Clarence and Laura Gibson Pierce. His loving wife Hazel Ross Pierce also preceded him in death along with one son Donald Ray Pierce Jr., three sisters Louise Barker, Pauline Ross, and Betty Pelfrey, and one brother, Herman Pierce.
Donald proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Laurel Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Pierce (Theresa Crabtree) of Fort Gay, W.Va., and Tim (Maria) Pierce of East Lynn; four grandchildren Crystal, Natasha, Danny and David; and 10 great grandchildren Tamera, Devon, Bryanna, Alexi, Todd, Devon, Isabella, Bailey, Joshua and Benjiman.
Also surviving are two sisters, Brenda (Arden) Ross, and Bonnie Stiltner; and special friends Namon (Cheri) Perry.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2018, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Ray Fletcher officiating, and military honors performed by VFW Post 93. Burial will follow at the Sam Ross Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
