JOHNNY FRANKLIN “BO” CRABTREE, 62, of Dunlow, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord while visiting his home away from home in Tennessee on Thursday, June 21, 2018. Born February 6, 1956, he was the son of the late Mary and Johnny Crabtree of Varney, W.Va., Bo was Pastor of Macedonia Baptist on Drift Creek in Genoa, W.Va., as well as a member of the gospel group “The Christian Heirs”.
In addition to his parents, he was precede in death by one son, Gary Douglas Crabtree; granddaughter Michelle Larraine Crabtree; sisters, Barbara Helvey, Allison “Bug” Crabtree, Jacqueline “Tiny” Crabtree; and one brother, Darrell Brawley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Opal Crabtree; his children, David McCoy of Kermit, W.Va., Joanie (Walter) Dotson of Paintsville, Ky., Johnny (Michelle) Crabtree of Genoa, W.Va., Jessica Crabtree, Laura Crabtree, Ruby Phillips, all of Dunlow, Mary Ann Dillion, Mike Crabtree, both of Chattaroy, W.Va., Robert (Sara) Crabtree of Delbarton, W.Va., and Kendra (Jesse) Kirk of Williamson, W.Va.; one brother, James (Julie) Crabtree; one sister, Phyllis Stell of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews too numerous to name; special friends James and June Watts, Mary Lou and the late Buck Maynard, Jim and the late Ruby Muncy; and many more.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Ferguson Branch House of Prayer, Dunlow, W.Va., with Brothers Willard Pierce and Lemual Little officiating. Burial will follow in the Crabtree Cemetery, Ferguson Branch, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at the Ferguson Branch House of Prayer, and continue all day Tuesday with services starting at 7 p.m. both nights. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home is honored to serve the Crabtree family.
