Mary Evelyn (Meade) Preece

MARY EVELYN PREECE, 67, of Genoa, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 21, 2018.  She was born May 29, 1950 at Williamson, W.Va. a daughter of the late Willie Meade and Ola Workman Brewer. One brother, Johnny Meade also preceded her in death along with two sisters Vanessa Luce and Carolyn Sparks.  Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic True Gospel Church of Wayne.

          She leaves behind her loving husband of 49 years, James Preece; five children, Karen (Virgil) Perry of Kermit, W.Va., Jannie (Kendall) Chapman of Kimper, Ky., Tammy (Clyde) Boyd of Louisa, Ky., James Preece Jr. of Genoa, and Jimmy (Sarah) Preece, also of Genoa; 10 grandchildren, Charity Newsome, Chelsea Chapman, Tanner Justice, Brittany Preece, Chandler Chapman, Emily Grace Boyd, Collier Chapman, Ethan Perry, Brittany Elliott, and Brett Boyd; and four great grandchildren, Brantley Workman, Dawson Newsome, Zaylee Justice, and Jordan Pardo.

          Also surviving are nine brothers and sisters, Rosa Webb, Lula Glass, Hester McCormick, Sharon Hatfield, Gloria Sparks, Chester Brewer, Billy Brewer, Rocky Meade, and Willie Meade; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family too numerous to mention.

         Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.  Funeral 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 with Pastor Dallas Stephens officiating.  Burial will follow at the Preece Cemetery.
