ANNA BELLE SHEETS GILLESPIE, 89, of Milton, W.Va., passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, at home. Born in Green Bank, West Virginia on September 18, 1937, she is the daughter of Everett and Lucille Ervine Sheets, both deceased. A graduate of Green Bank High School, Glenville State University, and West Virginia University with degrees in education, she taught at Green Bank Elementary School in Pocahontas County and at Normantown Elementary in Gilmer County, a career spanning 30 years. An active member in Glenville Presbyterian Church and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, she held offices in both.

Survivors include her husband Gary Gillespie; son Daniel S. “Fritz” Gillespie and daughter-in-law Monna B. Gillespie; grandchildren Morgan and Kyle Gillespie; brother Don Sheets and his wife Sue; and niece Shelly of Glenville.

A celebration of Anna Belle’s life will be held at a later date.
