ANNA MAE STEPHENS RICHARDSON, 84, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born March 3, 1941, she was known for her bright personality, steadfast prayer life, and enduring faith in the promises of God. In her final hours, after being lovingly visited by her family, Anna Mae slipped away in quiet peace, secure in the Savior she trusted all her life.

Anna Mae was the devoted wife of the late James Madison Richardson Jr. She is survived by her four children, Joann Wallace, Vanessa L. Richardson, James Madison Richardson III (Tina Ann), and Lisa Richardson Morgan (Patrick); her grandchildren James L. Wallace (Debbie), Lacie J. Wallace, Ronald Rowe Jr., Erica L. Rowe, Hannah F. Butcher, Tempest Autumn Brown (Jameson Kyle), Ayla Edwards, and Noah Morgan (Ashtyn); and her great-grandchildren Roderik K. Rowe, Mikaly M. Rowe, Ryker Abraham Brown, Adeline Morgan, and Jonah Morgan.

Born to Elba and Ruth Terry Stephens of Wayne County, West Virginia, Anna Mae was the last surviving child of their ten children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Ruth and Elba Stephens, Mary Pruitt, Carmi Vernon, Marie Pyles, Tom Stephens, Ray Stephens, Ruth McCann, Carol Frazier, Hanie Moore, and Linda Marshall.

Funeral services for Anna Mae Stephens Richardson will be held at Johnson-Tiller Funeral Home, 10030 Route 152, Wayne, West Virginia 25570, on Sunday, December 21, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., led by family friend and retired Genoa United Baptist Pastor Danny Endicott. Interment will follow at Community Memorial Gardens in Wayne, West Virginia, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, James.
