BARBARA ANN STEPHENS, 76, of Wayne, W.Va., crossed over into eternal peace on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.  She was born March 8, 1940 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Mark and Nannie Meddings.  Her brother Bob Meddings also preceded her in death.

Barbara was member of the Bible Apostolic Church in Huntington, a devoted wife and great mother.  She leaves behind her loving husband Adolphis Stephens; one daughter Gail McHugh of Nashville, Tenn.; three sons, Al Stephens of Chesapeake, Oh., Edmond (Teresa) Stephens of Wayne, and Bradley (Debbie) Stephens of Huntington, W.Va.; nine grandchildren, Jenifer Thompson, Michael McHugh, Justin Stephens, Aimee Moon, Nathaniel Stephens, Jonathon Stephens, Kendra Davis, Tabitha Stephens, and Samuel Stephens; and 13 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters, Virginia Napier and Jean Mills; one brother, Roger Meddings, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor David Fairburn.  Burial will follow in the Stephens Cemetery.  Friends may call after 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
