BILLY JOE ABBOTT, 59, of Huntington, W.Va., went to rest in peace on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.  Born February 11, 1958 in Huntington, W.Va., Billy previously worked as a construction foreman.  Preceding him in death was his beloved mother, Margaret (Neace) Abbott Crum and father, Alfred Ray Abbott.

Billy leaves behind one son, Matthew Scott Smith; and two beautiful grandsons, Brayden Scott Smith and Parker Darrell Smith.  Also surviving are his loving brothers and sisters, Patty Ann (Perry) Webb, Juanita (Rick) Smith, Linda (Joe) Sipocz, Johnny (Verenia) Abbott, David Abbott, James Abbott, and Ronald Abbott; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Cove Gap United Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Hatfield officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cove Gap Resting Place Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.  Friends may call after 12:00 noon Sunday at the church.
