CHARLES EZRA TALBERT, 86, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was born February 10, 1937, in Holden, W.Va., a son of the late Arthur and Muriel Talbert.  Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Arthur Jr., Tommy, Donald, and Austin Talbert; three sisters, Laura Stephens, Stella Ratcliff, and Carolyn Knight; one grandson, Richard Moreland II; and one great grandson, Danny Thomas Stapleton II.  Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran and attended Canada Chapel Church.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, reading, and studying the Bible.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Violet Talbert; three daughters, Donna (Danny) Stapleton of Wayne, Deborah (Jim) Roach of Wayne, and Lisa (Garner) Freeman of Powhatan, Va.; one sone Richard (Deborah) Moreland of Wayne; nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is one sister, Beulah (Doug) Chapman of Wayne; one brother, William (Connie) Talbert of Wayne; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Stapleton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Napier Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
