CLARENCE ERMAL SMITH, 78, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2016.  He was born December 26, 1937 in Wayne County, West Virginia, a son of the late Chester and Augusta Smith.  His brothers Henry Allen Smith and J. Randall Smith also preceded him in death along with one son, Gerald Lee Smith.  Clarence was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and attended Rush Branch Church.

He leaves behind his wife, Linda Smith; seven children, Greg (April) Smith of Ontario, Oh., Donald (Jennifer) Smith of Ironton, Oh., Rachel (David) Thompson of Louisa, Ky., Kevin (Dalina) Smith of Ft. Gay, W.Va., Eric (Brandie) Smith, Beth (Nathaniel) Jordan, and Seth Smith (Cindy Wolford) all of Wayne; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Also surviving is one sister, Linda Ferguson of Mill Creek; and special friends Tammy and Charles Rowe of Genoa, W.Va., and Lindsey Jordan of Dunlow, W.Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery.  Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
