Obituary

CLAYTON LEE GOUGE, SR., 78, of Lavalette, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2016.  He was born August 22, 1937 in Roaring Creek, N.C., a son of the late Luke and Bertha Hughes Gouge.  His wife Jackie Gouge, also preceded him in death, along with one son, James Gouge; one brother Jeff Gouge; and four sisters, Dixie Rayburn, Mary Hatfield, Myrtle Stroughton, and Loretta Pittman.

He leaves behind two daughters, Bonnie Meadows of Milford, Del., and Michele Clay of Lavalette; three sons, Randal Gouge of Barboursville, W.Va., Dana Hudson and his wife Dawn, and Clayton Gouge, Jr., all of Gallatin, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, Eric Elliott, Steven Evans, Jayson Parks, Brandi Jones, Brian Clay, Jessica Hudson, Kristen Hudson, Kayla Smith, Kylar Hudson, Jill Gouge, Amanda Gouge, and Jacqueline Marie Gouge; and 14 great grandchildren, Sawyer Elliott, Kylyn Elliott, James Napier, Benton Rucker, Braden Rucker, Benjamin Evans, Sierra Parks, Jack Parks, Jaylon Jones, Emilee Clay, Whitney Clay, Madison Kerr, Logan Priester, and Aiden Zehnie.Also surviving is one sister, Novella Van Alman; one brother, Robert Gouge, both of Canton, Oh.; special friend Annie Moore of Lavalette; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family from all over the country who will miss him dearly.

Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Johnson Tiller funeral Home with Pastor Lenny Romans officiating.  Friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
