DONALD RAY “Hushpuppy” SCOTT, 80 of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2026. Born January 23, 1946, to his parents Orbie Scott (father) and Birdie Scott (mother), Ray is preceded in death by his sister Jean Scott, a special son-in-law Earnest Brady Brooks, and his son Jesse Joe Scott.

Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Rose Scott; siblings Dean (George) Ratliff, Roger (Gloria) Scott, Ronald (Amber) Scott; his daughter Sherry Brooks; a special daughter-in-law Monica (Joe) Scott; grandchildren Andrew (Heather) Scott, Brad (Jessica) Scott, Shawn (Elizabeth) Brooks, Shyanna (Joe Adkins) Brooks, Paul Brooks, Eric Brooks, Robert (Courtney) Scarberry, Jenny Brooks, and Zachary Hale; and his great grandchildren whom he loved dearly Abby Scott, Braylen Scott, Cooper Scott, Raelynn Brooks, and Liam Adkins. Friends including Tony Adkins, Teddy Adkins, Timothy (Glenda) May, and James Napier and many will miss him as well. There are also many nieces, nephews, and other family too extensive to name whom he held dear. Ray was a dedicated father, grandfather, great grandfather, and bus driver for many years. Ray will be missed by so many people, too many to name.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Donald Gene Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Napier Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday.
