HOLDIN KANE SMITH , 21, of Wayne, W.Va. passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022.  Born June 1, 2001, in Huntington, W.Va., Holdin was a Wayne High School graduate and worked at Beech Fork Marina.  Preceding him in death were his grandmothers, Virginia Smith, Jewell Chambers, Bessie Frye and Nannie Marcum.

Survivors include his mother, Debra Smith (Gary Hammons) of Louisa, Ky.; his father, Jamie (Shawnda) Smith of Wayne; sister Ashley (Marty) Lankas of Salt Rock, W.Va., brothers Jamison (Makaya) Smith of Lavalette, W.Va., Ben Smith of Louisa, Kaven Smith of Wayne, and sister McKayden Mounts of Wayne; two nephews, Liam and Levi Lankas; one niece on the way; grandmother Renee (William) Sword of Chesapeake, Oh.;  great grandfather Sam Frye of Lavalette; grandfather David Frye; and a host of family and friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2022, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Elder Sam Frye officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery, Louisa, Ky., with Jamison Smith, Ben Smith, Charles Smith, Richard Smith, Nathan Bearce, and Jonathan Fletcher as pallbearers.  Visitation will begin at noon.
