JAMES THOMAS "JIM" DICKERSON, 85, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away May 29, 2024, at St. Mary's Medical Center.  He was born September 2, 1938, in Armilda, W.Va., a son of the late Lonnie and Gertrude Dickerson.  Also preceding him in death were four sisters and their husbands, Marjorie (Red) Lucas, Dorothy Bunn, Jacqueline (Jim) Reynolds, and Ruth (Jr.) Ferguson; two sons, James Lonnie Dickerson, and Thomas Lee Dickerson; one grandson, Thomas Scott Dickerson; and one great grandson, Jared Tatum Dickerson.

Jim was a Sgt in the combat engineer unit of the US Marine Corps Reserve, previously owned a branch of Southern States Farm Equipment, and then retired to focus on his true passion of farming.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 66 years, Rosa Lee (Maynard) Dickerson; two children, Joseph Cletis Dickerson (Ruby), and Barsha Dawn (Hamilton) Whaley; 14 grandchildren, Susan (Chris) Trautwein, Jamie (Kristen) Dickerson, Jeb Dickerson (Rachel), Ashton Dickerson, Tia Shoemaker, T.J. Shoemaker, Deidre (Randy) Chapman, Dennis Jackson, Luke (Christina) Dickerson, Zack (Alyssa) Dickerson, Isabella Dickerson, Joshua (Kiersten) Perry, Kaylin Perry (Ryan), and Parker Perry; 19 great grandchildren, Alexa Perry, Levi Perry, Fisher Cade, Oakley Dickerson, Briar Cade, Kyson Dickerson, Stryder Miller, Watson Miller, Cailyx Watts, Dexter Watts, Arlo Trautwein, Luke Thompson, River Thompson, Amelia Dickerson, Haley Chapman, Jasmine Pack, Blake Pack, MacKenzie Pack, and Jase Pack; as well as several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Maynard Cemetery at Community Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
