JAMES DOUGLAS FAIRCHILD, 63, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away following an extended illness.  He was born June 29, 1952 in Prestonsburg, Ky., a son of the late Roy and Arvie Fairchild.  Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Charles Fairchild, Gordon Fairchild, and Richard Fairchild, and one sister, Sarah.

He leaves behind his wife, Joan Adkins Fairchild of Wayne; one daughter, Irvonna Blackburn of Prestonsburg; two grandchildren, Shaina (Trevor) Cercone of Morehead, Ky., and Matthew Blackburn of Prestonsburg; six siblings, Donald (Debbie) Fairchild, Shannon Fairchild, all of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Clark of Springfield, Ohio, Edna Faye Hayes of New Carlyle, Ohio, Wilma (Vernon) Matthews of Ray, Ohio, and Julie Crumb of Allensville, Ohio; special brother-in-law, James (Enemercy) Maynard of South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Private funeral services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
