JOHN SAM WATSON, 92, of Branchland, W.Va., peacefully departed this earth on April 7, 2022.  He was born June 3, 1929 a son of the late James and Lucy Watson.  His son, Pvt. Michael D. Watson also preceded him in death along with four brothers, Donald, Golden "Jay", Clifford "Wetzel" and Bennett Watson, and two sisters, Pearl Jean Clay and Jeraldine "Babo" Watson.

John was a veteran of the United State Air Force and proudly served his country for 12 years.

Survivors include his sister, Neva Maxine Adkins; as well as numerous nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Donald "Smokey" Hager officiating and military honors performed by American Legion Post 93.  Burial will follow in the Watson Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday.
