REV. LUCIAN WATTS, 89, of Lavalette, W.Va., passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born February 27, 1936, in Dunlow, West Virginia, a son of the late George and Virginia Robertson Watts. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Roberta Watts; one son Dale Watts; and three brothers, Rev. Ernest Watts, Rev. Gallie Watts, and Arnold Watts. Lucian was a retired Boilermaker, Local 667 in Winfield, W.Va., and a member of Tri-State Baptist Temple in South Point, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife Clora Napier Watts; three daughters, Brenda (William) King of Elkview, W.Va., Judy (Patrick) Holbrook of Grayson, Ky., and Patricia (Jeff) Benedict of Grafton, W.Va.; three sons, Danny (Loretta) Watts of Greenville, S.C., Thomas (Sheila) Watts of Louisville, Ky., and Michael (Michelle) Watts of South Point, Oh.; 20 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Janett (John) Stevens and Diana (Mike) Yoder all of Columbus, Oh; four brothers, Dallas (Ruth) Watts of Barberton, Oh., Jesse (Faye) Watts of Ashland, Ky., George (Lyneeda) Watts of Nashville, Tenn., and Delbert (Delores) Watts of Chesapeake, Oh.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with his son-in-law Rev. Jeff Benedict officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
