MICHAEL MAYNARD, age 68 of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 21, 2023.  Michael trusted fully that the completed cross work of the Lord Jesus Christ was sufficient to pay for his sin debt. Michael was confident in what the Bible calls "the gospel by which we are saved": that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). And therefore, being justified by faith, Michael had peace with God through his Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1-11). Michael would want you to know that this peace and salvation is freely available to all those who place their trust in the completed work of the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 3:20-24). Though Michael left behind many loved ones in family, friends, neighbors, and most importantly his brothers and sisters in Christ, he has been reunited with many loved ones who have been resting in the peace and comfort of a loving Saviour and a blessed God. And although the names of his loved ones who remain here on earth are too many to name and to precious to risk leaving off even a single one, the family would like to mention two of what he called his "special little buddies", Brayden Harless and Theodore Allen Townson. To all others, know that Mike loved you and we do too. The family would also ask for prayers in the days going forward, and that for anyone else who may be missing a loved one to find peace in God and his word and to know that if your loved one trusted Christ, please do not sorrow as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
