NORMA LEE BRIZENDINE, 86, of Glenwood, W.Va., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her children James and Erin. She was born November 14, 1939, in Ansted, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Clifford Jesse and Alma Mae Newton. Her husband John Brizendine Sr. also preceded her in death along with one son, John Brizendine Jr., and one brother, Gary Newton.

She leaves behind five children, Bridget Brizendine of Proctorville, Oh., Deborah Brizendine, James Brizendine, Mark (Anna) Brizendine, all of Huntington, and Erin (Vinton) Edmonds of Glenwood; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Also surviving is one sister, Ina Mae Thompson of Ashland, Ky.; one brother Rick Newton of Ceredo, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Huntington for their care and love. Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse Lacy officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
