RICHARD EVANS , 87, of Dunlow, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Friday,  February 14, 2020.  He was born August 2, 1922 at Wilsondale, W.Va., a son of the late Arthur and Ellen Spaulding Evans.  Also preceding him in death were brothers and sisters, Riley Evans, Bob Evans, Ronnie Evans, Sarah Gibson, Hilda Harris, and Polly Browning.  Richard was a retired coal miner and a member of the Fairmont Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his wife Catherine Evans of Ceredo, W.Va.; two children, James Douglas (Sue) Evans of Clyde, Oh. and Anita Jo Queen Evans of South Point, Oh.; two grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Also surviving is his brother James (Sherry) Evans of Orient, Oh., and his sister Emma of Buckeye Lake, Oh.; as well as many dear friends and caregivers at Wayne Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Jessie "Brownie" Allen officiating.  Burial will follow in Queen's Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
