ROBERT LEE GRAY, 53, of Wayne, W.Va., formerly of Pursglove, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022.  He was born November 6, 1968, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, a son of the late Johnnie Mae Maxie and O'Neil Gray Jr.  Also preceding him in death was his wife of 21 years, Sharon Gray; one brother Gabriel Tyler; aunts Gladys Brazzle and Ellen Walker; uncles Gary Carheel, Michael Carheel, Tommy Carheel, Danny Carheel, Theo Carheel, William Brazzle, Jimmie Lee Maxie, and uncle Conaway.  Robert recently retired from Cumberland Coal and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Gray; step-children Joey LaMottie, Joni LaMottie, and Tommy LaMottie and their families; one sister, Tawana Gray and her daughter Lakkendra Gray; several stepbrothers and their families; aunts Ruby Conaway, Jacqueline Wesson, and Teresa Carheel; uncle Johnnie Boyd Carheel; as well as a host of cousins, family and friends.

Private services for the family will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
