SAM RICE, 71, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Friday, June16, 2017 at the Emogene Dillon Jones Hospice House. He was born February 23, 1946 to the late William "Bill" Rice and Senia Maynard Rice. Two brothers, Clifford Rice and Arvil Rice, also preceded him in death, along with one niece, Amanda Rice Robertson. Sam was retired from the Town of Wayne, and attended the House of Worship, Wilson Creek. He leaves behind one daughter, Jennifer (Chase) Collier; one very special grandson, Samuel Robert Collier, all of Grayson, Ky.; three brothers, Robert (Patty) Rice, Charles (Alta) Rice, all of Wayne, and Roy (Debbie) Rice of West Hamlin, W.Va.; special nephews and niece, William (Sarah) Rice, Charles Allen (Janice) Rice, all of Wayne, And Gloria (Roger) Scott of Ohio; and a host of family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their care. Funeral services will be conducted at 1p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Arbie Rice and Brother Scott Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery Lick Log Branch, Dunlow, W.Va. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
