TOM ALVE ADKINS, JR., 64, of West Hamlin, W.Va., passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at home.  He was born January 10, 1955 in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Tom and Gladys Nelson Adkins.  Also preceding him in death were five sisters, Vida Adkins, Mary Lou Adkins, Brookie Wiley, Rosa Lee Adkins, and Martha Brooks.

He leaves behind special friend and companion, Linda Jarrell; his children Thomas (Angela) Adkins and Joshua (Michelle) Adkins, of Chauncey, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Casey, Kaitlyn, Zach, and T.J.; and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Wava Toppins of Kiahsville, W.Va., and Wanda Sue Gibbs of Maryland; seven brothers, Ezra Adkins, Leonard Adkins, both of Kiahsville, Bill (Ada) Adkins of West Hamlin, W.Va., David Adkins, Bobby Adkins, Donnie Dale Adkins, and James (Ruby) Adkins, all of Kiahsville; special friends Penny Hooser of Barboursville, W.Va., Lillian Tomblin of Ranger, W.Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Gene Adkins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.
