VIRGIL LYNN CROCKETT, 87, of Wayne, W.Va., went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.  He was born July 22, 1931 at Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Sylvester and Minnie Crockett.  His loving wife of 53 years, Nellie Beatrice Adkins Crockett also preceded him in death, along with several brothers and sisters, Ann Gail Mullen, Martha Simpkins, Marie Crockett, Carroll Crockett, Lewis Golden "Shorty" Crockett, and Lee Crockett.  Virgil was a retired welder from Huntington Steel with 38 years of service.

He leaves behind two sons, Virgil (Patricia) Crockett of Wayne, David (Laura) Crockett of Barboursville, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Napier and Justin Crockett of Wayne; great grandchildren Alexas Napier and Gavin Napier; step granddaughters Megan and Alicia Maynard; special caregivers Betty Belcher and Linda Runyon, both of Wayne; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Michael Booth officiating.  Burial will follow in the S.M. Adkins Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
