WAYNE MAYNARD, 87, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born May 22, 1929 in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Marcus and Goldie Maynard. His wife Ruby Jewell Duty Maynard also preceded him in death. Wayne was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War, and retired from the Huntington Museum of Art. He leaves behind five children, Thelma (Brian) Nicely, Denny (Karen) Maynard, Jeffery Maynard, all of Huntington, W.Va., Steve (Linda) Maynard of Ft. Gay, W.Va., and Thelma Rene Rowe of Chesapeake, Oh; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Raymond) Abbott, Kristian Burns, Amanda Maynard, Zachary Nicely, Ashley (Joey) Clay, Jeremy (Beth) Maynard, Tyler Maynard, Faith Ann Maynard, and Andy Rowe; and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Paul W. Maynard, Everette L. Maynard and James F. Maynard; three sisters, Rinda Duncan, Dorothy Fowler, and Wanda Caldwell; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cabell Huntington Hospital and Hospice of Huntington.
