ADOLPHIS STEPHENS, 83, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Sunday, January 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born September 25, 1936 at Wayne, a son of the late George Menis and Violet Stephens. Preceding him in death was his wife Barbara Ann Stephens: two grandsons, Jason Neil Stephens and Michael McHugh; one great granddaughter Natalie Danielle Stephens; and nine brothers and sisters, Glenna Williams, Charley Stephens, Delores Parsley, Argean Stephens, Donald Stephens, Richard Stephens, Michael Stephens, Beverly Watts, and Dianna Stephens Lambert.
He leaves behind one daughter Gail McHugh of Chesapeake, Oh.; three sons, Al Stephens of Chesapeake, Ed Stephens of Wayne, and Brad (Debbie) Stephens of Lavalette, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Jenifer Thompson, Justin Stephens, Nathan Stephens, Aimee Moon, Jonathon Stephens, Kendra Davis, Tabitha Stephens, and Samuel Stephens; and 13 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Joyce Jones and Helen Weber; four brothers, Silas Stephens, Paul Stephens, Raymond Stephens, and Dallas Stephens; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, January 6, 2020 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Stephens Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
