ARMILDA ADKINS, 88, of Letart, W.Va., passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born May 6, 1936, in Wayne, W.Va., a daughter of the late Joseph and Nancy Gilkerson Bradshaw. Her husband Ovvie Adkins also preceded her in death along with two sons, James Adkins and Michael Adkins; one grandson, Chris Adkins; four sisters, Louise McCallister, Erma Adkins, Ruby Nicely, and Juanita Bradshaw; and five brothers, Paul Gilkerson, Okey Bradshaw, Homer Bradshaw, Johnny Bradshaw, and infant Charlie Golden Bradshaw.
Survivors include two daughters, Andrea (Charles) Lipscomb of Letart, and Angela (Keith) Perry of Proctorville, Oh.; one son, Joseph (Vickie) Adkins of Hurricane, W.Va.; grandchildren, Jon (Nicole), Erika (Tim), Aleisha, Drew, Diana, Allyson, Tara, Mikayla, Daniel, Jaime, Joey, Justin, Jessie, and Michael; 10 great grandchildren, Hailey, Landen, Maddie, Khloe, Peyton, Eli, Arabellah, Sawyer, Lillian, and Adreanna; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurse Angela at St. Mary’s Medical Center, as well as Hospice of Huntington for their care and support.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in a private burial at the Bradshaw Cemetery.
