Barbara Ellen (Davis) Dean

BARBARA ELLEN DEAN, 88, of Genoa, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 6, 2023.  She was born June 11, 1934 in Logan County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Roscoe and Mary Adams Davis.  Also preceding her in death were eight brothers, Jeff Davis, Lucian Davis, Elba Davis, Roscoe Davis Jr., Malchom Davis, Kenneth Davis, Harlan Davis, and Jack Davis; four sisters, Edith Davis, Lucille Davis, Ethel Davis, and Eunice Caudill; four sons, infant Alvis Glen Parson, infant Donald Ray Parsons, Charles Parsons, and Doug Parsons; and one grandson, Charles Parsons, II.  Barbara was a homemaker and a member of Big Lynn Freewill Baptist Church.

            Survivors include one son, Keith (Garnet) Fortner of Genoa; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren; one sister, Viola Bryant; one daughter-in-law Charlene Parsons, both of Genoa; and a host of nieces, nephew, family and friends too numerous to mention.

            Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Roscoe Davis Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
