Barbara Sue Mills

BARBARA SUE MILLS, 84, Wayne, W.Va., passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  She was born September 18, 1939, in Logan, W.Va., a daughter of the late Vernis and Syble (Vance) Maynard.  Barbara was a member of Liberty United Baptist Church for many years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Dove, Joyce, and an infant sister.  

              She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Eldon Mills; one daughter, Kim Bias; and two sons, Dan (Karen) Mills, and Randy (LeeAndra) Mills.  She was the best “MaMaw Barbara” to her grandchildren Jennifer (Brandon) Caruthers, Jeremy Bartram, Ally (Jamie) Bias-Dzierzak, Kyle Mills, Josh (Brooke) Mills, Joseph Mills, and Ben Mills; and great grandchildren Keira Mills-Lewis, Colbie Caruthers, Harper Bartram, and Emory “Emmy” Mills.

              She is also survived by one brother, Garland Maynard; and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, church family, and friends who loved her dearly.

              We will miss her sweet smile and quiet strength but know that she is now restful and at peace with the Lord.

              The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Medical Center, 4 South Team 1, and Medical Intensive Care for their outstanding and loving care they provided in her final days.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastors Michael Dillon, and Eddie Parsons officiating.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Annex.  Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday.
