CANDIS RAMSEY, 89, of East Lynn, W.Va., passed away January 17, 2022, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born July 25, 1932, in East Lynn, a daughter of the late Daisy and Willard Ramsey. Also preceding her in death were her children Anita Jean Warren, and Hugh Allen Stidham; special friend Norman Arthur; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Budai; grandson Michael-Paul Fack; sisters, Freda Romack, Margaret Ramsey, Mary Ramsey, and Margi Ramsey; and brothers Grant Ramsey, Tildon Ramsey, Garson Ramsey, and Orville Ramsey. Candis loved her little dog Johnny Rebel (JR) and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and canning, as well as playing the guitar, banjo, and singing.
Survivors include three daughters, Patty Stidham of Johnson City, Tenn., Candace (Keith) Budai of Lincoln Park, Mich., and Jo (Ray) Starling of Bristol, Tenn.; one son, Marvin (Ann) Stidham of Wayne, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, Donald Rogalski of Romulus, Mich., Stacy Rogalski and Crystal Rogalski both of Taylor, Mich., Brandon Budai of Lincoln Park, Mich., Adam Stidham of Denver, Colo., Aaron (Leslie) Stidham of Johnson City, Tenn., Heather Starling of Charleston, S.C., Steven Rogalski of Boise, Idaho, Nathan Budai of Lincoln Park, Mich., Zachary (MeKayla) Starling of Johnson City, Tenn., Justin Fack of San Diego, Calif., and Sara (Jason) Jones of Wayne, Mich.; seven great grandchildren, Briahna Budai, Sawyer Starling, Shawn (Naomi) West, Selena Fack, Kayla (Caleb) Koteles, Cody (Deonna) Bryant, and Jesse Michael Jones; and one great-great granddaughter, Aleah Koteles.
Also surviving are two sisters, Ella Adkins of Lincoln Park, and Hellen Lay of Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Private interment was held at the Mays-Ramsey Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
