CHARLOTTA BELLE CLAY, 74, of East Lynn, W.Va., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born November 17, 1947, at Stiltner, W.Va., a beloved daughter of the late Ernie and Vicie Brooks. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Ruthie Dyer, and one brother Sampson Brooks. Charlotta was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
She leaves behind three daughters, Ladonna (Mike) Clark, Pamela (Shannon) McSweeney, and Brittany (Dustin) Perry; grandchildren Jacqueline (T.J) Payton, Michael (Holly) Clark, Kassie Davidson, Logan McSweeney (Destiney Hall), Conner Perry, and Heather (Andy) Pittman; and great grandchildren, Elijah, Garrett, and Jayce Sexton, Molly, Kaylee, Rylee, and Abby Clark, and Becca and Jamie Pittman.
Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Shirley (Carl) Grimm, Frank (Sue) Brooks, Brady (Sherry) Brooks, Barry Frasher, Vangie Brooks, Bernice Marshall, Ernie (Kim) Brooks, and Uneeda Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staffs of St. Mary’s Home Health, St. Mary’s 1MCU 3rd floor, and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their care and support.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastors Ernie Brooks, Emual Adkins, and Daniel T. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Brooks Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
