CLARK FINLEY, 93, of Dunlow, W.Va., passed away Monday, October 9, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1930, in Dunlow, a son of the late Zora Finley and Ida Bell Elliott Finley. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Shirley Meddings Finley; four brothers, Brady “Shorty”, Larry, J.C. and Zora Finley, Jr.; four sisters, Louverne Ferguson, Lora Workman, Verdie Phillips, and Margie Meddings. Clark was retired from General Motors with 32 years of service, as well as a member of the UAW and the Dunlow Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Polly McMillion of Dunlow; three sons, Clark E. “Cracker” Finley (Judy), Charles Finley (Regina), all of Cleveland, Oh., and Ronnie Finley (Missy) of Louisa, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Mary Vannatter, Danny McMillion, Crystal Lao, Clark Finley III, Darla Mallory, Jennifer Battle, Jessica Russo, Charles Finley, and Shannon Finley; a host of great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Also surviving are two sisters, Oneeda Hundley of Dunlow, and Betty Messer of Huntington, W.Va.; his furry companion Scooter; as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Leroy Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Meddings Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday.
