EMOGENE RAMEY, 72, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born June 15, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late Walter and Ozell Pennington. Her husband James Shelton Ramey also preceded her in death along with her sister Juanita Kelly; two brothers, Clarence Pennington and Kenneth Pennington; and her father and mother-in-law, Garland “Boo Boo” and Lena Ramey. Emogene was a long-time member of Laurel Freewill Baptist Church and cherished her church family.
She is survived by two brothers, George Pennington of Melvindale Mich., and Daniel Pennington of Florida; her children, Jeanie Ann Broome of Detroit, and Jimmy Lee Broome of Tennessee; step-daughter Tony Lynn Ramey; several nieces and nephews and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brothers Brandon Arbogast and Danny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.
