Jack Bocook Obituary

JACK DAVID BOCOOK, 86, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  He was born January 27, 1938, in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, a son of the late Edward and Ruth Bocook.  Also preceding him in death were five brothers, Jim Bocook, Alan Bocook, Edward “Bo” Bocook, Daniel Bocook, and Joe Bocook.  Jack was a US Navy veteran and a retired welder.  

                Survivors include his wife Marlene Bocook; four children, Larry Billups of Huntington, Jackie Bocook of Huntington, Angela (Bucky) Ward of Kenova, W.Va., and James Bocook of North Carolina; three stepchildren, Lory (Butch) Scarberry, Lisa (Donnie) Patrick, and Michael Conn, all of Ashland, Ky.; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

                Also surviving are four brothers, Bill (Pat) Bocook of Proctorville, Oh., Larry David Bocook of South Point, John (Rene) Bocook of Proctorville, and Charles (Pam) Bocook of Catlettsburg; and four sisters, Lalona H. Eaken of South Point, Mary Hutchinson of Huntington, Louann Justice of South Point, and Donna (Tom) Hannah of Lewisburg, W.Va., as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention.

                Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.  Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
