JAMES LEONARD ADKINS, 67, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at his residence. He was born February 20, 1958, in West Hamlin, W.Va., a son of the late Wetzel and Elva Adkins. Also preceding him in death were siblings, Delmar Adkins, Pansy Adkins Tabor, Mitchell Adkins, Shirley Adkins, Christene Lambert, Tester Adkins, Kezzellene Prolow, and Walter Adkins, and special friend Glen Stapleton.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Linda Adkins; three sons, James Adkins (Deborah Spurlock) of Genoa, W.Va., Jessie (Shawna) Adkins of East Lynn, W.Va., and Jason (Plynia) Adkins of Wayne; 10 grandchildren, Jordin, Austin, Christy, Kayla, Hadden, Roger, Rebecca, Isabella, Gregory, and Derek; and 11 great grandchildren, Ciarah, Gracie, Raiden, Alex, Ashton, Savannah, Xavier, Jacob, Lillian, Jolene, and Mazzie.
Also surviving are two sisters, Marie Burress of West Hamlin, and June McCoy of Huntington, W.Va.; special friend Donald Steele of Ranger, W.Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wayne County Community Services.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Price Mills Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
