JAMES FRANKLIN MAYNARD, 85, of Kenova, W.Va., went to with the Lord and be reunited with his wife and son on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He was born September 7, 1936 in Dunlow, W.Va., a son of the late James and Carrie Maynard. His wife, A. Janice Maynard, also preceded him in death, along with one son, J. Michael Maynard; two sisters, Louise Maynard and Opal Glynn; and one brother, Robert Maynard.
James was retired from American Car & Foundry with 32 years of service and attended Camp Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherry (James) Mills of Kenova, Chris Maynard of Proctorville, Oh., and Jennifer (Ralph) Hill of Kenova; nine grandchildren, Drew Mills, Ashley Mills, Mason Reynolds, Madison Eastham, Miranda Walk, Hayliee Barker, Harliee Hill, Heidiee Hill, and Jared Maynard; and 17 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Walter (Lynn) Maynard, Jack (Linda) Maynard, Richard (Judy) Maynard, all of Cleveland, Oh., and E.J. (Bonnie) Maynard of Dunlow, W.Va.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Cardwell officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday.
