JAMES MINNES WILSON, SR., 45, of Genoa, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on December 23, 2020. He was born November 25, 1975 in Louisa, Ky., a son of Sharon Gay Wilson Ramey (Dale) and the late Vernon Wilson, Sr. Also preceding him in death were grandparents James and Lucille Wilson, and Minnes and Dolly Starr; nephew Courtney Wilson; father-in-law Larry Murphy; and “Granny” Mazie Copley.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sharon Jewell Wilson; one son James Minnes (Alesia) Wilson, Jr.; a daughter Kimberly Jewell Wilson; and three grandchildren who were the light of his life, Aria Jayne Wilson, Jaylah Reagan Wilson, and Keatyn Blayne Wilson.
Also surviving are two brothers, Vernon Wilson, Jr., and Robert Wilson; one sister, Starlena Rigsby; best friends and brothers Jimmy (Tammy) Chafin and Mike Marshall; mother-in-law, Juanita Jewell Murphy; sisters-in-law, Pauletta (Jimmy) Robinson, Teresa (Bill) Pierce, Lisa (Tony) Ferguson, and Edna (Daniel) Roseberry; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Johnson Tiller funeral Home with Brothers Manuel Ferguson and Mark Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
