JANET HALE CHIERA, 74, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born August 5, 1949, in Wayne, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lula Hale. Her sister Judy Kay Bloss also preceded her in death. Janet was retired from Corbin Ltd. and attended Wayne Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Robert P. Chiera; two sons, Larry D. (Celine) Adams of Ukiah, CA, and Anthony R. (Tina) Adams of Danville, Va.; grandchildren, Amelia, Liam, and Annie Adams, all of Ukiah, Haley and Addison Adams, both of Vale, NC, Axton “A.J.”, and Lula Grace Adams, both of Danville, Alexis Marie (Russell) Whaley of Dothin, AL, and Christopher (Chelsea) Prescott of San Antonio, TX; and three great grandchildren, Thomas, Lannie, and Anna.
Also surviving are two sisters, Joann (Larry) Booth of Wayne, and Ramona Sue (Donald) Leslie of Prichard, WV; one brother, Raymond (Connie) Hale Jr. of Wayne; one stepson, Robert (Denise) Chiera Jr. of Poquoson, VA; and their daughter Ashley (Aaron) David of Lynchburg, Va.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday April 29, 2024, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Garrett Hale officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
