JESSE JOHNSON FRYE, 73, of East Lynn, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born May 21, 1948, in Logan, W.Va., a son of the late Herbert and Katie Queen Frye. Also preceding him in death was one sister, Mary Frye Clark; grandsons, Samuel Welford and Travis Davis; and step-daughter, Lynn Whitt. Jesse served his country honorably in the US Army.
Survivors include his loving wife Ella Frye; two daughters, Mary Sollazzo and Sheila Cooley (Tom Holsinger); one son, Jesse Frye Jr. (Michelle Turley); step-daughter Lorie Mayhon, all of East Lynn; former daughter-in-law, Eva Frye of Salt Rock, W.Va.; grandchildren, Steven Sollazzo, Mark Sollazzo, Christopher Welford, Justin Welford, Richard Welford, Jessica Toppings, Corey Frye, Alandra Frye, Kaden Frye, Kierra Frye, Roscoe Davis, Ray Davis, Alex Davis, Ricky Davis, Kacie Melbar, and Levi Turley; and great grandchildren, Richard Welford, Jr., Hannah Sollazzo, John Paul Sollazzo, Caige Maynor, Zander Sollazzo, Gabriel Sollazzo, and Kendrick Lewis.
Also surviving are two sisters, Jean (Bill) Balewski of Cleveland, Oh., Toney (Ronald) Runyon of Delbarton, W.Va.; one brother Beldin (Pam) Frye of East Lynn; and a host of family and friends too numerous to mention. Additionally, he was the step brother and stepson to the Melvin Moore family.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Blankenship officiating.
