JOE THOMPSON, JR., 72, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at his residence. He was a retired drywall hanger and finisher. He was born February 24, 1948 in Wayne, a son of the late Joe and Mary Lou Thompson. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Wanda Thompson and Corene Osburn; and three brothers, Richard, George, and Michael Thompson.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Vanessa (Milton Lee) Mills of East Lynn, W.Va.; two sons, Danny Thompson of Huntington, and Brian Thompson of Oh.; eight grandchildren, Aaron (Shelby) Mills of East Lynn, Ashlee (Brad) Peterman of Ft. Gay, W.Va., Haylee Mills of East Lynn, Donovan Thompson of Huntington, Molly (James) Murphy, Brian, Moriyah, and Miyah, all of Elyria, Oh.; and two great grandchildren Josiah Peterman and Hazel Murphy.
Also surviving are three brothers, Charlie (Maxine) Thompson of Wayne, Don (Hattie) Thompson of Prichard, W.Va., and Tony (Sherry) Thompson of Oh.; two sisters, Doris (Gary) Taylor of Huntington, and Sue Thompson (Earl) of Wayne; sister-in-law Mary Thompson of Huntington; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as many neighbors and friends who all loved him dearly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Kidney Specialist and Cabell Huntington Dialysis Center for all your care through the past several years.
