LOVADA “LOVE” DAY, 52, of Dunlow, W.Va., passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Three Rivers Medical Center. She was born October 11, 1968 in Pike County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Helen Brenda Sue and Jessie Blankenship. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Bobby Blankenship, Jessie Blankenship, Jr., and Martin Wolford; one sister, Henrietta Grimmett; maternal grandparents Sadie and Henry France; paternal grandmother Hattie Blankenship; and son Charles “Bub” Day III. She loved the Lord with all her heart and a member of the Genoa Church of God for 32 years, where she taught Sunday School and led Youth Group.
She leaves behind her husband, Charles “Catfish” Day Jr.; two sons, James D. Owens and Warner Day; Ladawnna (Justin) Owens, Keshia Day, Shamber Crosby, Jessica Scott, and Laura Duty; 22 grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly; special friends Tammy Jordan, and Joann Haddox; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to thank Dunlow EMS and Louisa Divita for their care.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother James Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Blankenship-Day Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral. Per her request, no flowers please.
