Lucian Gordan Jackson

LUCIAN GORDAN JACKSON, 93 years old of South Point, Ohio, left this life on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, to be reunited with God and loved ones.

He was born on November 26, 1931, in Wayne County, West Virginia, a son of the late Rev. Lucian and Beulah Jackson.  Also, preceding him in death was his wife, Frances Jackson; sons, Jimmy and Timmy Jackson; daughter Lori Dale Jackson White; as well as a beloved brother, Otho Jackson; sisters Ceola Jackson and Loralee Riggs; son-in-law, Joe Sexton; two great granddaughters, Skylar Jo & Izzabella; a great grandson Joshua; and a great-great grandson, Devlin.  

He leaves behind his sons, Darrell Jackson of Kentucky, Ricky Jackson (Denise) of Berlin Heights, Oh., and Scott Jackson of South Point; one daughter, Diane Jackson Sexton of South Point; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Dale Jackson of South Point; and one sister Roberta Baker of New Martinsville, W.Va.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He loved hard and he loved deep.  He cherished his family and friends.  He shared a special friendship with Mike Powell and deeply missed his longtime friend Bob Napier who preceded him in death.  He was a true American who loved his country and his flag.

He loved to tell stories about his childhood, and he loved a good joke. A little over a month ago, he made Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior.  The void daddy will leave behind in our hearts is enormous, but his presence will always be felt.  

The viewing will begin at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, with the funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. with Brother Dave Finley officiating.  Burial will follow at the Muncy Family Cemetery in Wayne, W.Va.
