Muss Henry Carter

MUSS HENRY CARTER, 71, of Ceredo, W.Va., passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  He was born March 7, 1949 in Wayne, W.Va. a son of the late George and Emma Carter.  Also preceding him in death were five sisters, Ida Blake, Creasie Mays, Joyce Blake, Lyda Yates, and Linda Carter; two brothers, Roy Carter and Paul Carter; and one grandson Tristan.

            He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Phyllis Yates Carter; two daughters, Sandy (Alex) Webb of Wayne and Amy Carter of Lavalette, W.Va.; one son David (Christina) Carter of Huntington, W.Va.; and four grandsons Aaryn Webb, Zach Carter, Ryan Carter, and Trenity Carter.   

            Also surviving are three brothers, Homer Carter of Prichard, W.Va., Zeri Carter and Calvin Carter, both of Wayne; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

            Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Revs. Johnny Harris and Clayton Harmon officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Donations to assist the family can be made by selecting the "Donations" tab at the top of this page.
