NEVADA FAYE KAUFMANN, 86, of Wayne. W.Va., passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born November 21, 1937, in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Wetzel and Dora Ferguson. Her son James Wetzel “Yogie” Ross also preceded her in death along with seven siblings, Wetzel Ferguson, Jr., Sylvia Thompson, June Webb, Olive Ferguson, Lois Sutherland, Nannie Ferguson, and Reba Davis; the father of her children, Glenn Delbert Ross; and her 2nd husband Roy Kaufmann.
Faye was a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Dayron Corporation and Martin Marietta Defense Contracting.
Survivors include her son Gwindel G. Ross of Wayne; grandchildren Ryan Dempsey, Miles White, Mandy (Sid) Price of Seven Springs, N.C., and Sheridan Ross of Raleigh, N.C.; great grandchildren, Alina Smith, Sophia Smith, Titus Glenn Price, and Elsa Pearl Price; one sister, Shirley (James R.) Smith of Lavalette, W.Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2024, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at noon.
