PATRICIA ANN BECKETT, 74, of Dunlow, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Kings Daughters Medical Center. She was born May 14, 1949, in Dunlow, a daughter of the late Hobert and Mary Ann Crum. Her husband of 53 years, Thomas Beckett Jr., also preceded her in death along with her sister, Barbara Ann Sutherland, and one granddaughter AnaStasia Brooke Perry. She attended Fairmount United Baptist Church in Dunlow and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 56, Wayne. Patricia was a founding member of the Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department with 46 years of service, and was an agent with Monumental Life Insurance Company, where she retired. In her years after retirement, she served as a caregiver for her husband and parents and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her beloved great grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Brian Keven Beckett (Kelly), Brynl Kristin Beckett, and Brentley Kraig Beckett (Christy); six grandchildren, Lyndsay Conn, Mackenzie Beckett (Haley), Alexys Followay (Josh), Taylor Perry (Ryan), Kennedy Ferguson (Mikey), and Stratton Perry (Tatum); nine great grandchildren, Bryson, Westyn, Axton, “Big Guy”, Alyssa, Makayla, Calle, Renee, and Kasen; and her special dog Brandy, who was a faithful companion.
Also surviving are two aunts, Leva Adkins, and Pearl Dye; several brothers and sisters-in-law; very special cousins; and nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Elder Roger Maynard and Pastor Emanual Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Beckett Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
